Weekly wishlist #2

Clockwise from top left:  Rituals Yogi Flow Indian Rose - John Lewis, £6.90,
John Lewis, £12.75, Origins No Puffery cooling mask - Boots, £19,
Clarisonic Mia - ASOS, £120

I'm sure all of you find the same problem - reading blogs is damaging to your bank account!  The Clarisonic Mia coupled with Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish have received so many good reviews that I'm just waiting until pay day before I buy them!

I featured a review of Rituals' Yogi Flow a couple of months ago and now that I've run out, I've decided that I definitely need to repurchase.  The scent just makes showers so relaxing!

I'm really paranoid about dark circles under my eyes so the last two products on my wishlist will hopefully remedy this!  I've heard very good things about the Benefit eye cream and I have a bit of a soft spot for Benefit products.  The Origins cooling mask is a product that I'm not very familiar with but claims to de-puff eyes.  Recently I've been suffering from quite sore, tired eyes so I'm going to give this product a go and see if it sorts them out!

What beauty products would you recommend?  What's currently on your beauty wishlist?

Kérastase Elixir Ultime review

According to Kérastase's website, Elixir Ultime "makes hair feel silky and weightless, nourished if used before cleansing and supple and protected if used before styling".  So does it really do what they say?

Product
One pump produces a 10p piece sized amount of clear, syrupy liquid.  It smells delightful - sweet, yet not sickly sweet - a bit like a combination of vanilla and coconut.  Only one pump doesn't look like it would be enough but a little goes a long way - you definitely don't need any more than this.

Price
Retailing at around £30 for 125ml, Elixir Ultime seems pretty expensive.  As I mentioned above though, a little goes a long way and I tend to use it every other hair wash since one use keeps my hair in a good condition for a few days.

Effects
I don't think I could agree more with Kérastase's claims.  My hair has never felt so soft and silky.  Elixir Ultime makes it so much easier to dry and straighten that I really notice when I haven't used it.  The serum can make your hair appear greasy if you apply it to the roots, so I apply to the lengths and ends before using a hairbrush to brush the product through my hair.

Would I buy it again?
Definitely.  I've never been so impressed with a haircare product.

I purchased this product with my own money and have not been paid for or asked to write this review.  All views are 100% honest and my own.

Weekly wishlist #1

Clockwise from top left: Stone effect bathroom accessory set - Next, £16, white towel bale - Next, £32, 'I can only please one person' metal sign - notonthehighstreet.com, £7.25, doggie doorstop - notonthehighstreet.com, £37, white tulip rectangular bundle - Next, £40

As I mentioned, I have a couple of new features planned for the blog - a weekly wishlist being one of them!  I thought that home items would be the best place to start this week since I'm spending almost all my time perusing for items to put in our new home!

I've always loved the home sections on both the Next website and on notonthehighstreet.com so I'm literally dying to move in to our house so I can get buying.  Above are just a few items that I'm particularly lusting after at the moment, especially the dog shaped doorstop - how cute is he?  I definitely think I'm going to have to get him to tide me over until I can persuade Danny that we need a puppy!

I'm baaaaaaaack!

Looking at the date of my last post makes me ashamed.  11th February?  Has it really been that long?  That said, a lot has happened in that time, and while I haven't had time to do a photo a day and keep up with my project 365, I do have lots of news to tell you all!

Promotion
My manager left at the end of January and after angling after his job for some time followed by speaking to my boss about it, I got promoted!  I'm now assistant manager in my department, which means no more travelling to clients in far away places for weeks on end.  Bliss - my credit card is very much appreciating the reduction in petrol costs!  It also meant a pay rise, which leads on to my other (and more exciting!) news.......

House
We've bought a house!!!  Only a month or two after first starting to look, we found the one!  A cosy 3 bedroom semi detached house just around the corner from work and only 10 minutes drive from the town centre.  I'm so excited about moving in!  We've been busy buying bits and pieces but still have quite a lot to get - mainly kitchen appliances and the sofa.  Is it a bit sad that I'm really excited about buying a sofa?  We're hoping to move in towards the middle of May and when we're settled, I'll be doing a few interior posts (and possibly exterior when we get the garden sorted) per the request of Emily.  I can't wait to get decorating - I've got so many ideas about what to do and I can't wait to get started!

50+ hour weeks combined with frantic mortgage and life insurance arranging (I feel so old!) has left little time for blogging over the last two months but I can assure you all that I'm fully refreshed and have got my mojo back now!  I plan to do a couple of new features on here too, so watch this space! :)
