Project 365: #147 Man v Food

These are no ordinary chicken wings. They're Las Iguanas' "vivo" chicken wings, cooked in a habaƱero sauce. Danny is a big lover of spicy food (I am not!) so when he saw these on the menu he just had to try them. I opted for much more sedate nachos - I have no desire to cry my way through dinner! I did, after persuasion from Danny, dip my finger in the sauce and try the tiniest bit. Can I just say, even a tiny bit (about the size of this → O) was more than enough and I had to have a drink! By the end, even Danny had streaming eyes and the sniffles, but he said he liked them and he'd have them again (crazy fool!) It reminded me of a Man v Food challenge, if any of you have seen that - not the usual way to spend date night!

Project 365: #146 Nephew number 2!

I had an unexpected message from Danny this morning.  Naomi, his sister in law, had gone into labour - a little bit of a surprise since she was only 28 weeks!  After a couple of hours of watching the phone, we got news that she'd had a gorgeous baby boy, Harry, weighing 3lb 1oz.  It's hard to imagine a baby that small!  As he's so early, he's in an incubator and on a ventilator to support his tiny lungs but all the tests that the doctors have done so far have been positive and he's apparently doing as well as anyone could hope :)

Since he's in intensive care until he gets a bit bigger (precautionary for newborns that small), we can't go and visit just yet but welcome to the world little man!  Can't wait to meet you!

Project 365: #145 Droooooooooooooool...........

Apparently I'm really difficult to buy presents for, or so my best friend tells me every year around my birthday.  And every year, she gets me a collection of goodies that are spot on!  This year these Reese's white chocolate peanut butter cups were included.

For those of you who don't know, I lived in San Francisco for three months in 2008 (I got an internship over there through work) and fell in love with Reese's while I was there.  My best friend came to visit and got hooked on them too and now we always think of each other when we see them.  White chocolate is easily my favourite chocolate and the combination of two of my great loves together was nothing short of amazing! (So amazing that I polished off both cups in one sitting!)  I'll definitely be hunting these down in the supermarket!
